PLANT SAFETY MANAGER
ELMIRA, NY
Global manufacturer needs hands-on professional to develop and upgrade plant programs for all departments. Plant floor employee interaction.
DUTIES:
Report to Plant Manager for this union facility to maintain company Safety & Health policies. Manages theSafety Department and directly supervises employees.
Develops safety policies and programs including training programs and processes/procedures for the prevention of hazards and diseases in the workplace.
Manages and facilitates effective union and management partnership in safety initiatives.
Maintains, analyzes and processes safety records.
Audits plant and shop areas and implements actions to correct hazardous situations to comply with OSHA and Company requirements.
Effectively maintains accident report files, incident files, accident investigations, corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence, and other related safety issues.
Ensure all plant policies and procedures comply with governmental and state safety requirements.
Continually educates and refreshes all plant employees on safety policies and procedures.
Identifies job hazard analyses and provides recommendations to reduce risks.
Develops effective solutions to safety problems and challenges within the plant.
Manages, leads plant compliance in completing safety audits and follow-up corrective actions.
MUSTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
Minimum of 6-10 years of experience within a manufacturing, industrial environment
Experience in delivering OSHA certified training, advanced first aid and CPR
Must have experience training in the following: occupational health, safety and environmental compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and standards.
Experience managing or supervising teams and/or committees for safety & environmental issues.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including the hourly workforce, first line supervision and plant management staff.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
