Job Description
Duties:
Lead the combustion systems and melting systems design engineering for glass melting and other high temperature engineering applications to include performing and overseeing flow and pressure calculations, equipment sizing, and development of design improvements and advancement of the melt services designs.
Provide on-site technical support during installation and operational start-ups, leading the hot melt services project assignments for new and existing products.
Coordinate major furnace capital improvement projects over next few years.
Provide strong technical and analytical skills for the melting projects.
Participate on project teams as a project area leader for melting services.
Interact with corporate and all plant depts.-very visible and promotable position.
Provide problem solving skills to assist plant in troubleshooting and resolving melting issues.
Provide coaching to develop and strengthen melting services engineering methods.
Coordinate all related Quality and Safety issues.
Must Haves
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical/Ceramic or Chemical engineering.
5-10 years in glass/ceramic manufacturing.
Experience with ceramic/glass melt high temperature applications.
Experience with glass/ceramic furnaces-kilns.
Strong knowledge of combustion/melting engineering principles.
Ability to interface and motivate project team members and effectively meet demanding project objectives.
Strong promotable skills for career advancement to upward Operations or Engineering levels.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
